THE CUP OF ICHORAN

(2024)

In 2024, Josh wrote, designed and ran (playing the role of game-master) an original 12-hour "one-shot"  Dungeons & Dragons (5e) campaign for 8 players titled 'The Cup of Ichoran'.

The campaign took inspiration and direction from Matthew Colville's 'Running the Game' video series, as well as the writing and game style of Matthew Mercer in their worldbuilding for the web series 'Critical Role'.

Josh designed all eight player characters (distributed to players at random) with fleshed-out backstories and bios, and also created and designed the game's world and its lore from the ground up, as well as all enemies and non-player characters (NPCs) encountered, multiple original puzzles and riddles, and pre-planned multiple diverging narrative paths based on real-time player decisions.

The one-shot campaign ran from midday to (just after) midnight on 14th April 2024, and was met with overwhelmingly positive response from all players (ranging from veteran to newer DnD players).

Character Designs:

All character visual designs were new concepts created from the ground up using HeroForge.

The backstories, gameplay roles, and roleplaying notes of each player character were created and then fine-tuned in collaborative discussions and ideation with each player.
