Josh is a UK-based freelance writer and narrative designer specialising in fantasy, comedy and horror, with an emphasis on true-to-life, naturalistic dialogue and evocative interactive storytelling.​​​

After initial experience writing for theatre and live performance — penning several stage plays, live performance sketches, and cabaret acts — Josh has expanded his work into the gaming industry space and is currently writing for video games and tabletop gaming as a narrative designer, script writer and worldbuilder.​​​

"Josh is a talented and creative narrative designer. I’ve worked with him on several occasions, mainly on theatre productions by The Long And Short Of It Productions, which he co-founded.

His writing is informed and detailed; even seemingly insignificant moments are layered with research to ensure his storytelling has good bones, and this leads to thoughtful and well-developed characters, worlds, and lore.
As a script writer, he understands the transition between the script and the stage, and would encourage the script to breathe during the rehearsal process. This ability to be flexible and actively listen to feedback highlights Josh’s collaborative attitude to projects, which is essential in creative work.

He is particularly gifted at writing comedy, but is an excellent drama and fantasy writer as well.
